What is ATSWA?
ATSWA is a comprehensive program designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to become members of the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) and progress toward full qualification as professional accountants.
The program consists of three stages:
Part 1 (ATS 1)
Part 2 (ATS 2)
Part 3 (ATS 3)

ATSWA Program Structure
Part 1 (ATS 1)
In Part 1, students are introduced to the basics of accounting and related disciplines. Subjects include:
Basic Accounting Processes and Systems (BAPS)
Business Law
Economics
Communication Skills
Part 2 (ATS 2)
This stage is ideal for successful Part 1 students and those with relevant qualifications such as a National Diploma in Banking & Finance. Eligible students may receive exemptions for certain subjects, including:
Principles and Practice of Financial Accounting (exemption for ND in Banking & Finance)
Public Sector Accounting
Quantitative Techniques
Information Technology
Part 3 (ATS 3)
Part 3 is the final stage, qualifying students for the AAT Certificate. It covers:
Principles of Audit
Cost Accounting & Budgeting
Preparing Tax Computations & Returns (Taxation)
Principles of Management
Successful completion earns you the AAT Certificate and eligibility to progress as a professional accountant.

Eligibility Criteria
To enroll, candidates must possess one of the following:
Five (5) credit passes in WAEC, GCE, or NECO, including Mathematics and English Language, in not more than two sittings.
Ordinary National Diploma (OND) from a recognized Polytechnic.
National Certificate of Education (NCE) from an accredited College of Education.
Other relevant qualifications approved by ICAN.

Exam Schedule
ATSWA exams are held twice a year, in March and September, giving you the flexibility to plan your studies.
How to Register For ATSWA
Follow these steps to become an ATSWA student:
Pay a registration fee of ₦6000 at any commercial bank in Nigeria (bank charges not included).
Complete your registration online using the details from your payment receipt.
Prepare the following documents:
Passport photograph (scanned and uploaded during registration).
Copy of O-level results or relevant certificates.
Completed application form with referee details.
Supporting documents, including birth certificate and payment evidence.
Submit your application to the Students’ Education & Training Department at 82 Murtala Mohammed Way, Ebute Meta, Lagos.
