Approved Qualifications for Registration as a Professional Student

To register as an ICAN student, applicants must possess qualifications no lower than a university degree or its equivalent. Accepted qualifications include:

  1. Degrees from accredited universities or Higher National Diplomas (HND) from polytechnics.

  2. Final examinations of the following organizations:

    • Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators

ICAN Examination Stages

Follow these steps to register as a professional ICAN student:

  1. Pay Registration Fee: Pay the registration fee of ₦10,000 (excluding bank charges) via Pay Direct at any commercial bank in Nigeria.

  2. Online Registration: Complete your registration on the ICAN website using the payment details from your Pay Direct receipt.

  3. Photograph: Obtain and scan a colored passport photograph for the registration form.

  4. Print and Sign: Print the completed application form, sign it, and have it certified by a Chartered Accountant (referee/sponsor).

  5. Sponsor Details: Provide your sponsor’s membership number, name, and phone number.

  6. Submit Documents: Attach the following documents:

    • Original copy of the PIN voucher

    • Two certified passport photographs

    • Original Pay Direct receipt

  7. For AAT Candidates: AAT result holders should pay ₦23,500 for induction/conference and attach the receipt to the form.

    Additional Notes

    • If using a transcript instead of NYSC, address it to the Registrar/Chief Executive of ICAN.

    • Changes to your address will not be entertained until after two years of registration.
